What is Darkan?
A 2D pixel-art MMORPG. You explore the world, fight creatures and bosses, and grow your character in a single online world.
Can I play offline?
No. Darkan is online-only — every character lives on the official server.
Which server should I choose?
None. There is one official server, and everyone plays in the same world.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows. Other platforms have not been announced.
When is the release date?
The release date has not been announced yet. Follow the news for updates.
How much does it cost?
Pricing has not been announced yet.
How do I create an account?
With your e-mail and a password of at least eight characters, confirmed twice. Accounts are created in the game client; web account creation is coming soon.
Will I lose my progress if the game closes?
Your character is saved when you log out and automatically every 30 seconds while you play.
Can someone log into my character while I am playing?
No. A character can only be in the world once — a second login is refused.
Is my password safe?
The connection to the server is encrypted, and passwords are stored with a per-account salt and slow hashing, never in plain text.
Which class should I pick?
Knight for melee and defence, Paladin for ranged precision, Mage for area magic. See the classes page for a full comparison.
